Diving on the props in Islamorada

Had a rough night with a surprise squall with winds up to 24 miles an hour near channel 2 in Islamorada, with the current ripping, dragging and swinging our boat over multiple lobster pots, which caused our anchor to become fouled. We realized at 11 PM that we were drifting dangerously close to the channel marker. And of course, everything happens at night… in the rain. So yours truly was on the front of the boat pulling the anchor and Rob repositioned the boat trying to navigate through a minefield of lobster and crab buoys. When the achor was finally up, it was fouled with all kinds of old fishing line and old crab pot line, and we were dragging a trap with bunches of seaweed between the hulls of the boat as we navigated back to where we initially had been anchored.

We plan on moving the boat back over to the other side of long key bridge where we had been before. There it’s more protected from the wind with no current, though still loaded with dozens and dozens of crab and lobster buoys how everywhere. Perhaps this will make a nice slalom course for us to go wing foiling through later today if the wind is good.
